SCDP Slams Lindsey Graham for Backpedaling on Quid Pro Quo Comments
Columbia, S.C. — Today, Trav Robertson, chair of the South Carolina Democratic Party, released the following statement slamming Lindsey Graham for backpedaling on his comments that a quid pro quo with Ukraine would be “disturbing” and “off-the-rails” after former National Security Advisor John Bolton confirmed the corruption.
“Lindsey Graham has once again flip-flopped on a serious issue that is important to all South Carolinians,” Robertson said. “This isn’t about the 2020 election, and this isn’t about John Bolton. This is about South Carolina’s values of fairness, honesty and justice prevailing. Lindsey Graham, however, only cares about playing Washington political games, not representing the people of South Carolina and their interests.”
After the whistleblower report and the Trump-Zelensky transcript was released, Lindsey Graham stated a quid pro quo with Ukraine would be “disturbing”. Just this week though, Former National Security Advisor John Bolton confirmed that there was indeed a quid pro quo between President Trump and Ukraine. Despite previously saying a quid pro quo would be “off-the-rails” wrong, Lindsey Graham stated that the allegations by John Bolton did not merit convicting the President.
