SCDP Officers Statement on the Inauguration of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris
Columbia, S.C.— Today the South Carolina Democratic Party leadership issued the following statement commemorating the historic inauguration of Joseph R. Biden Jr. and Kamala Harris:
“What we witnessed today is so much more than the peaceful transition of executive power. The inauguration of the first woman Vice President of the United States is not only historic but sends a clear message that anything is possible for every young American.
On day one, President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have built the most diverse cabinet and administration in history. We have every confidence the Biden-Harris administration will lead with the dignity this nation deserves while working to eliminate racism, inequality and discrmination wherever it exists while facing the immense challenge of stopping COVID-19.
As our new leaders prepare to guide us into a future built on facts, research and data, South Carolina Democrats are excited and inspired to support this history making presidency.
