SCDP CHAIR STATEMENT ON TRUMP ADDRESS TO JOINT SESSION OF CONGRESS
Columbia, SC – South Carolina Democratic Party Chair Jaime Harrison released the following statement on President Trump’s address to a Joint Session of Congress:
“Donald Trump skillfully performed his con man routine tonight. But in reality, the agenda he and the rubber-stamp Republican Congress are offering will leave incomes stagnant, health insurance eliminated, millionaires’ taxes cut, opportunity denied, families split up, air and water polluted, civil rights abandoned, voting rights suppressed, bigotry unleashed, international tensions heightened, and our people less safe. Democrats will fight them every step of the way to ensure that America remains a land of opportunity and a beacon of liberty.”
