We learned last night that the Attorney General of the United States lied under oath. Sessions didn’t just lie; he lied about the grave matter of the Russian attack on our democracy and potential collusion in that attack by Donald Trump’s campaign.
Here’s what needs to happen:
1) Jeff Sessions must resign as Attorney General
2) A special prosecutor must be appointed to investigate the Trump campaign’s potential collusion with Russia
3) An independent commission, along the lines of the 9/11 commission, must be established to fully investigate the Russian attack on our democracy
In order for Administration officials to be held accountable, Republicans in Congress must put country over party and fulfill their constitutional role as a check against the power of the Executive Branch.
