House Republicans are planning to vote on Trumpcare TOMORROW NIGHT, and it could really go either way. Blocking it will protect the health care of 24 million Americans. Without exaggeration, this is truly a life-or-death issue.
Out of the handful of undecided House Republicans whose votes will determine whether it passes, 2 are from South Carolina: Mark Sanford and Jeff Duncan. While their concerns with the bill are different from ours, voting “no” counts the same regardless of the reasons. And if Sanford and Duncan hear that their constituents of all political stripes are opposed to the bill, they will be more likely to vote no. So call them to let them know you’re opposed! Sanford currently has 32,700 constituents with coverage from the ACA marketplace; Duncan has 25,300 (and they should both have many more constituents covered by the ACA’s Medicaid expansion, but that has been blocked by SC Republicans’ bankrupt ideology). So call them and tell them we need to improve the ACA, not dismantle it. The lives of thousands of their constituents hang in the balance.
With a close vote expected in the House, every vote counts. Your calls could literally make the difference between Trumpcare passing and failing, between millions of Americans having affordable health care coverage and them losing that coverage. So make those calls!
