As Ron DeSantis parachutes into South Carolina ahead of the one-year anniversary of the Supreme Court overturning Roe v Wade, South Carolina Democratic Party spokesperson Alyssa Bradley released the following statement:
“Just a few months ago, Ron DeSantis signed an extreme abortion ban ripping away Florida women’s freedom to make their own health care decisions. Make no mistake: as he parachutes into South Carolina ahead of the one-year anniversary of Roe being overturned, DeSantis and the rest of the MAGA Republican Party are running on banning abortion before many women even know they’re pregnant, criminalizing health care providers, and forcing victims of rape and incest to either share their trauma or give birth. With abortion access under immediate threat in South Carolina, we need a leader in the White House who supports more rights, not fewer.”
