SCDP Purchases First Permanent Headquarters in History of Party

Columbia, SC — As of this morning, the South Carolina Democratic Party has officially closed on the purchase of a new building to serve as it’s headquarters – the first time the party has ever outright owned a building. The new office will be located at 1929 Gadsden St., Columbia, SC 29201.

This new headquarters will allow the SCDP to launch it’s 2020 campaign as soon as possible with more space for staffers, organizers, and volunteers. Situated in downtown Columbia, the building will serve as a base for Democrats across the state organizing to win seats in the legislature, the US Congress, and the White House.

The SCDP also purchased two vacant, undeveloped lots on the same street as the headquarters to provide additional parking and in the future allow the party to expand and house even more people along with more meeting space to accommodate the party’s needs.

“We are so excited to be moving into a new home for the Democratic Party” SCDP Chair Trav Robertson said. “We are ready to have a place for people from across the state who want to join us in the fight for a better South Carolina. We are building the largest fight for the state legislature that we have had in decades, and our new headquarters will serve as a place to plan, meet, and organize towards victory.”
