IT’S A PATTERN: RALPH NORMAN REPEATEDLY ABANDONS LAW ENFORCEMENT

Columbia, SC – Days after demanding that Ralph Norman apologize for attacking first responders suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), South Carolina Democratic Party Chair Trav Robertson today called on Norman to explain his vote to deny state retirement pensions to police officers.  Norman was one of only two members of the State House of Representatives to vote against the bill.

“What does Ralph Norman have against police officers and those who protect our communities?” Robertson asked.  “In 2014, he voted against their workers’ compensation.  In 2016, he voted against their pensions.  We need to make sure Ralph Norman is not in a position to cast even more votes against our first responders.”

The bill, S. 381, was sponsored by Senators Katrina Frye Shealy, Lee Bright, Ross Turner, Kevin L. Johnson, Tom Young, Jr., Darrell Jackson, Lawrence K. “Larry” Grooms, Ronnie A. Sabb, Paul Thurmond, A. Shane Massey, Karl B. Allen, Vincent A. Sheheen, Tom Davis, Greg Hembree, Larry A. Martin, Kevin L. Bryant, Harvey S. Peeler, Jr., Thomas C. Alexander, Joel Lourie, Ronnie W. Cromer, Nikki G. Setzler, and John L. Scott, Jr.
