Columbia, SC—On January 6th an angry mob of seditionists attempted to overthrow America’s government by preventing members of Congress from carrying out their constitutional duty of ratifying America’s election results. During the attempt to overthrow the government of our country, law enforcement officers protected members of Congress and the very essence of our democracy. Some paid the ultimate price. Today, Congress voted to award law enforcement officers the Congressional Gold Medal. Congressman Ralph Norman, (SC-5), voted No.
“Today Ralph Norman displayed a lack of support for the men and women who have defended and continue to defend our Capitol – those who wear a uniform. He should be removed from office or resign as he has proven that he is not capable of defending our constitution nor is he willing to obey the oath he took to defend our constitution. Norman’s actions, his vote against the commission to investigate sedition and treason and his vote today proves that he is simply anti-American and doesn’t believe in the American ideal of democracy. Norman supports treason and sedition. He is part of the Coward Caucus and no longer deserves a spot in the United States Congress. After all, he is the coward who brought a gun to meet with a group of ladies,” stated Trav Robertson, Chair of the South Carolina Democratic Party.
