The South Carolina Democratic Party’s State Executive Committee meeting on Saturday, August 23, granted an appeal regarding the Horry County Democratic Party’s 2025 county convention after concerns were raised that the original elections were not conducted in accordance with party rules. The State Party will provide oversight and set the date for a reconvened Horry County Democratic Party Convention.
This new convention will allow Horry County Democrats to hold new elections to choose leadership in a fair and transparent process. Our priority is ensuring that every Democrat in Horry County has confidence in their local party and that their voices are fully represented as we work together to build a stronger Democratic Party across South Carolina.
