We hope everyone’s preparations for Hurricane Matthew are proceeding smoothly; we strongly encourage all to heed warnings and guidance from authorities in order to stay safe. Regardless of what the storm does, though, the voter registration deadline isthis Saturday, October 8.
Fortunately, no matter where you are, you can still register to vote online. You can register (and check your registration status if you’re not sure) by going to eitherhttp://www.iwillvote.com or http://www.scvotes.org/south_carolina_voter_registration_information. You can also register by mail (as long as your form is postmarked by the deadline), by fax or email, or in person at your county board of voter registration and elections office if your county is unaffected by the storm. Click here for a copy of the registration form that you can mail, fax, or email. Click here to find your county office’s contact information.
So first, make sure you’re in a safe place. Then, go online to check your voter registration status, and if you’re not registered at your current address, register or update your registration so that you can cast your ballot for Democrats on November 8!
