We are delighted to announce that Tom Perez, Chair of the Democratic National Committee, will deliver the keynote speech at the inaugural Blue Palmetto Dinner on Friday, April 28 in Columbia. Chair Perez previously served as Secretary of Labor and Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights during the Obama Administration.
We are thrilled to welcome Tom Perez back to South Carolina to hear how he plans to rebuild the Democratic Party. I had the pleasure of getting to know Tom better during the DNC Chair campaign, and our Party is in great hands with him leading the way. Tom is committed to a 50-State Strategy and investing in Red States because Democrats can’t cede any ground to Donald Trump and his rubber-stamp Republicans.
We are witnessing an outpouring of progressive enthusiasm throughout the country, and the challenge for the Democratic Party is to harness and organize that enthusiasm to help us win elections and enact lasting progressive change. Tom Perez has fought for progressive change his entire career, and South Carolina Democrats are excited to hear how we can most effectively work with the national Party to elect Democrats to all levels of government so we can improve the lives of all South Carolinians and all Americans.
The Blue Palmetto Dinner is scheduled for Friday, April 28 at 7:00 pm at the Medallion Conference Center. Part of the 2017 Democratic weekend, it will be followed on Saturday, April 29 by the State Party Convention, also at the Medallion Conference Center.
