7000 SOUTH CAROLINIANS ARE DEAD FROM COVID AS MCMASTER & SC GOP ELIMINATE WOMEN’S REPRODUCTIVE RIGHTS

Pro – Life Governor McMaster refuses to sign lifesaving COVID vaccine funding bill making it clear which lives SC Republicans truly prioritize

Columbia, S.C.— South Carolina is up against COVID-19 vaccine shortages, a flawed vaccine rollout, combined with no clear strategy as to how South Carolina will fight the deadly virus that has killed over 7000 people. However, the bill that would increase access to vaccines across the state sits on Governor Henry McMaster’s desk awaiting his signature.

Conversely, the draconian six week abortion ban known as S.1, sailed through the General Assembly and the Governor immediately signed it clearly, indicating Governor McMaster and the Republicans have the ability to act swiftly. Why do McMaster and the Republicans who control every aspect of state government lack the same sense of urgency when it comes to providing the COVID vaccine? Why would the Governor pit the elderly against teachers? Who will speak out for our grocery workers, truckers, delivery drivers, all frontline workers and their families, who are affected by McMaster’s inaction.

“Yesterday Governor McMaster proclaimed he was pro-life by signing an unconstitutional bill which will ultimately waste millions of our tax-dollars while it is disputed in court. How he makes a claim like that when he ignores the bill designed to save people’s lives, proves Republicans only care about the unborn and not those of us who are living. ” said SCDP Chairman Trav Robertson, Jr. “The voters of South Carolina will not forget it was McMaster who refused to sign the COVID vaccine bill as the death count in our state rises above 7,000. The Governor had plenty of time to effectively ban all abortions, strip South Carolina women of their rights while claiming to be pro-life.”
