Will Jesse Bullard take his marching orders from the NRA and his friend and fellow Republican Kirkman Finley? At the urging of the NRA, Finley, in 2022, proposed a bill to withhold state funding for cities that have tougher gun laws than the state.
“Council Members Tina Herbert, Ed McDowell and Will Brennen voted against taking the ordinance off the books.”
TYLER BAILEY ON SAFETY: “Bailey also said the city should still consider putting laws in place regarding ghost guns and illegal firearms, regardless of a state court ruling that deemed previous city ordinances related to gun control illegal. South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson sued the city over the ordinances — and won — arguing that state laws on guns take precedence over municipal laws. Bailey said the city should continue pushing for something enforceable.”
