James Island Folly Beach Dems

Adopt-a-Highway Volunteer Event

8:30 AM – 11:00 AM

 

Adopt-A-Highway trash pick-up on Folly Rd, from Sol Legare to Grimball.

 

Come out and help brighten up our community!

 

Meet at the Harris Teeter at 1985 Folly Road. We will provide coffee and donuts between 8:00 and 8:50. We will start collecting trash at 9:00. Water, gloves, bags, vests and other gear will be provided as well as transportation back to the Harris Teeter.

 North Richland Dems -Touch Every Voter Registration Canvass

 9:30 AM – 1:00 PM

 

Join North Richland County Democrats this summer as we begin to canvass our neighborhoods, safely, to assure EVERY potential Democratic voter is registered.

 

Our “Touch Every Voter” project will take place every two weeks, starting Saturday, June 12, 2021, from 9:30am – 1:00pm.

 

We will be canvassing door to door to reach out to unregistered voters in North Richland County. You will need:

  • Good walking shoes and comfortable clothes
  • A Smartphone or tablet with the (free) MiniVAN app installed

Volunteers will receive training and support to get this work done.

Charleston County Democrats

Canvassing Training

We will be holding canvassing training on Saturday, June 12, from 10 AM to 12 PM, at the CCDP Office to go over basics and tips regarding canvassing. During this training, we will focus on preparation for upcoming canvasses of voters in highly Democratic precincts this summer with the goal of registering voters/updating their addresses.

 

Using feedback from our first canvass, we will walk through the script and discuss good habits and tips for canvassing in general. Please come if you plan to help us canvass this summer.

Armory Park Clean-Up 

2:00 – 3:00 PM

 

Before we meet at Armory Park on Wednesday, we need a few volunteers to help make sure the Park is in good shape before we gather. We’ll spend an hour or so picking up trash, sweeping, and helping ensure that after we’re there the park looks better than we found it.

 

If canvassing isn’t for you, and phone banking isn’t for you, but “let me know what else I can do!,” this is a great opportunity.

 Democratic Women of Greenville County Monthly Meeting

Democratic Women of Greenville County will host two guest speakers at their June meeting. Brandon Upson is the founder of Amplify Action, a non-profit organization focused on empowering marginalized communities through voter registration and civic mobilization of Black Men. In 2020, they registered more than 39,000 Black men.

 

Timicia Grant serves as the 2nd Vice President and Chairs the membership committee for Democrat Women of Greenville County, she also is also the lead organizer for the SCDP’s voter registration efforts.

Volunteer with the Berkeley County Democratic Party to help register voters and answer questions about the Democratic Party in South Carolina at Charleston’s largest Juneteenth celebration. The event takes place on Friday, June 18th from 2:00 -10:00 pm and Saturday, June 19th from 10:00 am-10:00 pm. 2-hour volunteer shifts are available throughout the event.
