Richland County Democratic Women Event

Jun 20, 2012

Please be sure to mark your calendars for our next meeting on Monday, July 9th from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m
at the Adult Activity Center,  7494 Parklane Road (http://www.richlandcountyrecreation.com/park.php?id=adult-activity-center).

We are excited to announce that we are planning to hear from two of our Democratic women candidates for the November election :

Beth Bernstein – running for SC House District 78 – the seat now held by Joan Brady.  Beth is a practicing attorney here in Columbia. A wife and mom, she has numerous professional and civic accomplishments, including being selected as in 2006 as one of Columbia’s Top “20 under 40.”   You can learn more about Beth at www.beth4house.com

Julie-Ann Dixon – running for Richland County Council District 9 – the seat now held by Val Hutchinson.  Julie Ann works with the Palmetto Development Group as the Office Manager/Training Coordinator.  Their website (www.palmettodevelopmentgroup.org) describes her as “a native of Jamaica, WI and Columbia, SC, her passion is in assisting anyone who really needs help. Her objective is to educate and lead anyone to better life.  Ms. Dixon is civic minded, and family and community oriented.”

Facing incumbents, both these women need our support and encouragement

We will serve light refreshments after the meeting, so please join us and bring a friend or two – remember also that men are always welcome at our meetings.
