Focus on Prevention of Gun Violence at March Meeting

 

Greenville, SC-Greenville City Police Chief Terri Wilfong and Jack Logan the President of Put Down the Guns Young People will be the guest speakers at the March 11th meeting of Democratic Women of Greenville County. The topic of discussion will be prevention of gun violence in our community.

 

Chief Wilfong is a native of Kentucky and a graduate of the University of Louisville. She became Greenville Police Chief in 2007. Prior to becoming Greenville’s Police Chief Wilfong served as the Assistant Chief in the Bureau Commander for the Louisville Metro Police Department. She retired from the Louisville Metro Police Department in 2006.

 

Jack Logan is a student at Greenville Technical College and the founder of Put Down the Guns Young People. He holds employment workshops for teens and sponsors rally’s to persuade young people to avoid becoming involved in gangs and the gun culture.

 

The Monday, March 11th meeting will be held at Runway Cafe at 5:30pm.

Runway Cafe is located at 21 Airport Road extension at the Greenville Downtown Airport. From Laurens Road turn onto Airport Road at the U.S. Post Office.

Reservations are required for dinner and must be made by Thursday, March 7th by calling Greenville County Democratic Headquarters at 232-5531 or  headquarters@greenvilledemocrats.com The cost of the buffet dinner is $15.00 and guests are welcome to attend.
