The Furman College Democrats and Democratic Women of Greenville are hosting a panel discussion on “The Future of the SC Democratic Party” on Tuesday, November 8, 7-8 PM, in the Burgiss Theater in Furman’s University Center.
State Party Chairman Dick Harpootlian will open the event as the keynote speaker. He will speak for 20 minutes on the cultural significance of two-party competition. Following his keynote address, he will join a 4-person panel discussion moderated by the College Democrats’ faculty advisor Dr. Glen Halva-Neubauer. The panel discussion will include former City Councilwoman Diane Smock, City Councilwoman Jil Littlejohn, and State Representative Boyd Brown. The panel discussion will be 20 minutes, followed by 20 minutes of Q&A with the student and community audience.
