SOUTH CAROLINA REPUBLICAN RALPH NORMAN CO- SPONSORS BILL AIMED AT FIRING DR. ANTHONY FAUCI

Columbia, S.C—  The coronavirus pandemic continues to devastate American families and communities. Almost 10,000 South Carolinians have lost their lives to the virus.  Republican Congressman Ralph Norman has co-sponsored a bill to fire Dr. Anthony Fauci. Dr. Fauci has served as the Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) since 1984.

Rep. Norman took to Fox News to announce his FIRED Act, or Fauci’s Incompetence Requires Early Dismissal (FIRED). Norman claims Dr. Fauci has missed the mark and been wrong from day one on everything, while ignoring the medical crisis happening on the Southern border of the United States.

The bill specifically calls for a twelve year term limit for anyone named Director of NIAID.

“Ralph Norman is not a doctor or a public health expert. Ralph served for 10 years in the SC House and has been in Congress since 2017,  and has consistently used his office to make money for himself.  His calling for the ouster of a dedicated public servant who has advised both Republican and Democratic Presidents since the Reagan Administration is absurd.” said SCDP Chairman Trav Robertson Jr. “If twelve years is too long for someone to hold public office in this country, then Norman should practice what he is preaching and not seek re-election in 2022.
