The South Carolina Democratic Party is excited to announce that U.S. Senator Cory Booker and U.S. Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock will be the special guest speakers at the 2024 Blue Palmetto Dinner on Friday, May 17 at the State Fairgrounds in Columbia. This annual event, known for national Democratic thought leaders and engaging speeches, is a must-attend for all South Carolina Democrats.
“We are thrilled to host both Senator Booker and Senator Reverend Warnock in the Palmetto State for our 2024 Blue Palmetto Dinner. This is not just a significant event in our Party’s history but also a testament to the Senators’ commitment to electing Democrats at all levels and defending our Democracy against the threats of MAGA aggression. Their presence is an indication that South Carolina Democrats play a pivotal role in the national political landscape,” said South Carolina Democratic Party Chair Christale Spain.
A United States Senator since 2013, Cory Booker has worked tirelessly to advance economic opportunity and equal justice, including leading efforts to advance criminal justice reform, increase wages and drive down costs to ensure hard work is fairly rewarded, address the scourge of gun violence, and protect all Americans’ ability to make their own healthcare decisions. As a tenant lawyer, city councilman, mayor, and in the Senate, Booker has spent his life bringing people together to take on the problems we face and deliver real results.
Now in the second year of his first full term, Reverend Warnock serves on the Senate Agriculture, Banking, and Commerce committees and continues to use his moral voice in the Senate to center people in Washington’s policy-making—from working to end rampant gun violence, cap insulin costs for everyone who needs it, and close Georgia’s health care gap, to advocating for America’s farmers and rural communities and fighting to lengthen and strengthen the cords of our Democracy by protecting the sacred right to vote.
