Today, South Carolina Democratic Party Chair Trav Robertson, Jr. issued the following statement on Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson being sworn in to the Supreme Court.
“Justice Jackson is a brilliant legal mind with the utmost character, integrity, and understanding of the law and she is a much needed addition to our nation’s highest court. Today’s historic swearing in means the Supreme Court better reflects the diversity of our nation – and it was made possible by everyone in South Carolina and across the country who voted for President Biden, and no thanks to Senator Lindsey Graham and Senator Tim Scott who voted against Justice Jackson’s confirmation. As conservative Supreme Court justices proactively impose their views from the bench, Justice Jackson will be a fair arbiter of justice for the American people.”
