Columbia, SC – South Carolina Democratic Party Vice Chair Kaye Koonce issued the following statement on Republican presidential candidates Donald Trump and Jeb Bush campaigning in South Carolina today.
While Donald Trump continues to command attention for his outrageous and offensive language, the entire Republican field, including Gov. Jeb Bush, is running further to the right to appeal to the most extreme voters in their party. Trump’s commanding lead in South Carolina is indicative of the Republican Party’s decision to campaign using fear and division, since they have no real solutions for how we can grow our middle class and help working families get ahead.”
