COLUMBIA, SC — “The women of South Carolina have already taken it upon themselves to ensure that their essential healthcare services are provided for, no thanks to the Governor or the Republican-controlled General Assembly,” said SCDP Chairman Trav Robertson in a statement Friday.
“In seeking Medicaid and Medicare waivers, the Governor is trying to repeat the mistakes of Nikki Haley by turning down healthcare funds South Carolina’s taxpayers have already paid on behalf of its citizens. There is much room for improvement in our current healthcare infrastructure and Governor McMaster has sent us backward in an attempt to further his campaign prospects. He is attempting to sacrifice the quality of life for many of South Carolina’s citizens for a cheap talking point.”
