In Iowa this morning, Nikki Haley once again confirmed that her campaign’s top priority is to end Social Security and Medicare as we know it. Millions of Americans rely on these programs, but as Haley has said over and over, her plan would raise the retirement age and protect wealthy tax cheats over everyday South Carolinians.
Polling shows exactly what voters think about Haley’s out of touch agenda that would jeopardize the income of millions, including South Carolinians:
- 65 percent of Americans oppose a raise to the retirement age, which is a key component of Haley’s plan.
- 67 percent of Americans say they oppose increasing monthly premiums for Medicare. Haley praised Paul Ryan’s plan that would have done just that.
- 58 percent of Americans think we should raise taxes on folks making more than $400,000 a year to pay for Medicare. As governor, Nikki Haley spent her time passing legislation that benefited the wealthy over working families. As president, can we expect her to do anything different?
