Ahead of Nikki Haley’s campaign stop in Myrtle Beach today, South Carolina Democratic Party Chair Trav Robertson, Jr. released the following statement:
“One month since jumping into the 2024 GOP primary, Nikki Haley is bringing her MAGA agenda back to South Carolina today. From calling for cuts to Social Security and Medicare to tying herself at the hip to Donald Trump’s extreme record, Haley’s campaign so far has made it clear that she believes her only path is to out-MAGA her potential opponents.”
Since launching her campaign, Haley has fully leaned into her MAGA agenda, running on cutting Social Security and Medicare and bearhugging election deniers and extremists:
- Last week, Haley tripled down on her calls to cut Social Security and Medicare.
- She has repeatedly refused to name a single policy difference between herself and Donald Trump.
- Election denier, extremist, and former Senate candidate Don Bolduc endorsed Haley within the first week of her campaign and has been fundraising on her behalf.
- In South Carolina, Ralph Norman – who refused to vote to certify the 2020 election and called for martial law 11 days after the violent insurrection on the Capitol on January 6 – was the first lawmaker to endorse Haley’s campaign.
