Columbia, SC—Today, SCDP Chair Jaime Harrison announced the formation of a statewide candidate recruitment and training committee to be chaired by state Democratic operative Trav Robertson.
“It’s our goal to compete for votes in every corner of the state. South Carolinians are tired of driving on broken roads and across battered bridges. They are ready to elect a new class of public servants who will roll up their sleeves and get to work.
“Trav is not only a close friend, but he’s also managed winning campaigns in South Carolina. His South Carolina roots run very deep, and his network stretches from Oconee through Orangeburg and on to Okatie. Together, we’re looking forward to recruiting and training an inspiring set of Democratic candidates this year.”
Trav Robertson, a native of Anderson, SC and graduate of the University of South Carolina, has managed over fifteen campaigns during his professional career. He worked in the 2008 Iowa Presidential Caucuses and returned to South Carolina to manage the general election effort for then Senator Barack Obama. Robertson served as the Deputy State Treasurer of South Carolina and recently concluded the campaign of Chief Bill John Baker of the Cherokee Nation.
