President Biden Has A Bold American Rescue Plan
As countless South Carolinians continue to be economically impacted by COVID-19 one year into the pandemic, South Carolina Democrats are calling on our elected officials to support the Biden Administrations American Rescue Plan, which will provide:
- $1,400 direct relief checks to Americans on top of $600 checks previously approved for a total of $2,000 in direct aid
- Enhanced unemployment benefits
- Increase the minimum wage to $15 an hour
- Additional support for small businesses
- Extended federal eviction moratorium and aid to low and moderate income households out of work
- Funding for vaccines, testing, and schools
SCDP Chair Trav Robertson said, “We believe this is a non-partisan issue that members of the SC Congressional Delegation should fully support. A recent Gallup poll found an overwhelming majority of Americans approve of President Biden’s coronavirus response including one-third of all Republicans. Providing aid to families, businesses, states, cities, and towns across our state is essential to help all Americans as a result of the pandemic are still in crisis.
