This Sunday: Fight for Health Care

Jan 11, 2017

We are pleased to invite you to participate in four events this Sunday, January 15 calling on our elected officials to protect the Affordable Care Act, Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security.  We thank our stellar grassroots activists for organizing in connecting with the Day of Action spearheaded by Senator Bernie Sanders, Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer, and House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi.  We must fight to protect the over 20 million Americans whose health care is at risk if the ACA if repealed, including more than 400,000 South Carolinians.

There are rallies taking place in Columbia, Spartanburg, Myrtle Beach, and Murrells Inlet.

The Columbia rally is being held from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at the Governor’s Mansion at 800 Richland Street.  For more information, please contact Lawrence Moore atlawmoore74@gmail.com and Elaine Cooper at iracooper@yahoo.com.

The Spartanburg rally is being held from 3:00 to 4:00 pm at the County Administration Building at 366 North Church Street in downtown Spartanburg. For more information, please contact Debbie Gardner Morrow at debmorrow14@gmail.com.

The Myrtle Beach rally is being held from 3:00 to 4:00 pm at 4779 Hwy 501.  The Murrells Inlet rally is being held from noon to 1:00 pm in front of Tidelands Hospital at 4070 Hwy 17.  For more information on both of these events, click here.

We hope to see you at the rally closest to where you live.  Bring signs and a loud voice.  In the meantime, we still want to hear how you and your family have benefited from the ACA and how you be harmed by its repeal; email your story to SaveOurHealthCare@scdp.org.

And if you can’t make it on Sunday, don’t worry—this is only the beginning of our fight against Donald Trump and his Republican cronies.  SC Democrats Care will be having a Day of Service on January 20 (Inauguration Day), so stay tuned for details on service projects in your area.
